Who is The Green Apron ?

I’m a stay at home Mom with two small children. I have always loved to bake and got hooked on decorating when I started practicing using fondant so I could make my daughter’s birthday cake. Three fondant decorated cakes later and I wanted to do so much more, including cookies and cupcakes. I thought a website would be a great outlet and reason to bake.

The name The Green Apron came from a apron my mother made for me.

    Hi Lisa,
Congratulations, your work is beautiful & Congratulations on two babies! Sorry that my computer has been ‘sticky’ the last couple days so I think I ‘Liked’ you twice:(. How many years since you showed in New England Pinto? Do you still have horses/ride? Alycia is all grown up, still riding, and has developed a milk allergy (more than just lactose, all milk proteins, whey, butter, cheese, etc) so if you develop any delicious recipes without milk products I would be especially interested.

      Hi Barbara,
It has been years since I showed Pinto Horses. Probably not since I was 15 or so. I quite Pinto to show in Hunter Jumper and went on to work for a few years with a Olympic 3 Day Eventer. The summer I graduated high school I was thrown from a young horse and hurt my back. I quite showing but not riding after that. When I moved to Arkansas for my future husbands work I pretty much quite riding except for the occasional trip back to my parents house. I am excited about my parents possible move closer so I can ride again and teach my kids to ride. It was such a nice surprise to see your comment ;) Alycia should check out Mom’s Gingerbread Cookie Recipe on the blog, they are made with shortening so no dairy and they are delicious!
